It would take a lot of guts to downgrade Dell before earnings. But if it happens, it will have an impact. Could help those who sold calls and haven't covered.

HOWEVER, IMHO most firms will wait until earnings are reported. If earnings are up considerably and Dell projects good/better times ahead, no downgrades.

Islander, Yes, I am someone who has bought and sold DELL over the past year, only to regret not simply holding.

So, if you learned your lesson and now are committed to a buy and hold, why do you care about valuation downgrades? I could care less.
