greg - Re: "Chrysler to the Germans, "

You don't get it in the least!

Our government is screwing around with successful US companies while foreign governments walk in and buy up American companies.

It seems like that Intel just dropped another $100 on its Pentium II 300 to crash its competitors' profitability, i.e. AMD K6-300.

Intel CPU monopoly must be stopped. When there is no competition, Intel screws end users with ridiculously inflamed high prices. When competitors came up with competitive chips, Intel slashed the prices to keep competitors from making profits with new chips and destroys the chip value that sitting in the end users newly bought boxes.

This world would be better off without Intel!

Looks like the K6-3D will have to be sold for less than $100 when it comes out.

Given the lack of L2 cache on the K6-3D, and the cost of expensive external L2 cache, and the expensive socket 7 100Mhz motherboards, heck the k6-3D will have to be sold for considerably less to meet the price/performance of the celeron and pentiumII.

Profits will continue to be elusive for AMD..

Greg,

Re: "It's inevitable in the global ecomomy. Us is very attractive vs germany
high labor costs."

Please explain again, Greg, why AMD is building their Fab in Dresden ... won't
AMD have to also pay those "high labor costs".
