David, I actually think TXN got the better part of that deal. Yes, MU stock is worthless, as far as earning power and a dividend discount model would prove, but the chip-making fab is less than worthless. It turns out chips on which you lose money on each chip. So, this is not a case of buying a $50,000 dog and paying for it with two $25,000 cats. It is trading two cats who fend for themselves and are likely to starve to death for a dog who eats caviar by the short ton. <G> My gripe with TA is always that the Technicians are waiting for somebody else to move. It is a counter-punching philosophy with no ideas of its own. I think most of us are smart enough to make our own decisions and not to wait for the "smart" or the "dumb" money to show us the way.
