If earnings are met, I can't imagine where the guidance would
be any worse than last time. I get the feeling that
management is very positive - and that's what they're going
to say. Unless we have dramatic news, as last time with
WorldCom, the stock will not be shook up (remember ...premise:
if earnings are indeed met)

If we do have dramatic news, well worst thing IMO is what's
going on now... because in a way we are already in the
worst case scenario - losing WorldCom contract was a big blow.

By the way, anybody notice that the MCI/WorldCom merger is
being strained some more by GTE? I wonder if this
merger will really happen. And if it does, when? Next year?

The merger conflict, to me, lessons the chance of CIEN regaining
the WorldCom contract.

any thoughts anybody?
