Two issues that are getting interesting although they popped today are RNWK and ITVU. I hold small positions in both from slightly higher prices. They are worth a look.

Been Hiding Out, Friend...

Went to Network InterOp in Vegas, LITERALLY lost
my wallet (not fun), and my own little home thread--Pure
SEEK--dropped off the proverbial map before I returned.

I'm always watching, you know. Still in SEEK,
of course. My new comments are all over the original
SEEK thread. (God, I bet they're tired of me.)

The T deal is kind've... well... ball-sy, ain't
it? It's a me-too situation RIGHT NOW for SEEK...
at least on the face of it. Will T's voice-over
infrastructure be used to support some WBS's chat
rooms for SEEK? Ahhh, that's where we get into
a little creativity.

I've gotta say this, TLindt, and you may not know
how OBJECTIVE I can be about SEEK, but between its
Deutsche Telekom, WBS, and, most recently, the iVillage
move (first SIGNIFICANT foray by a major search engine
into the lucrative Women's programming area--I think),
and SEEK's (in essence) refusal of the NSCP deal, I'm
starting to see something out of this company that
I thought I might never see: corporate creativity.
I'm IMPRESSED.

XCIT's move with NSCP is neither as GOOD nor
as BAD (depending on which articles you read) as it
has been portrayed. You see, I've always been impressed
with XCIT's creativity... though not particularly its
negotiating skills (paying too much, giving too much
away, etc.--very run-and-gun-and-keep-running). But,
the wild card in all of this is NSCP: slumber central...
with a sharpened Barksdale, some nifty products, but
still some sleepers in its eyes.

Bottom line: I don't think SEEK felt it could
afford the UPFRONT money (even though it would be
repayed) for NSCP. At last count, SEEK had about
$70 million banked and ready for certain moves.

Hey, thanks for SEEK-ing me out... and keeping
both XCIT and SEEK at full tilt. I'll start re-visiting
soon.

Best Regards,

c m
