I don't think that the announcement of Unisys getting part of the Dell service business caused Dell to surge 5 1/8 points today. (The Wang business was old news.) I think the market anticipates a blowout quarter for Dell when they report earnings on May 19. Dell has jumped 36% in the last three weeks. I think there are a lot of shorts covering. Half of Dell's gain came in the final 1/2 hour. There was a big imbalance in orders--more offers to buy than to sell. I suspect many of those buying were trying to get their orders filled today because they expect Dell to gap up on Monday morning.
