I agree and think most people who own an RV and spend a fair amount of time travelling would spend dearly to obtain a service like Ricochet. What option do they have, other than trying to plug into a pay phone with an acoustic coupler at 2400 baud? I think the problem is obtaining coverage in the remote areas. Even if Allen wants Ricochet to be nationwide, I think he's thinking nationwide in terms of metropolitan areas, not necessarily every square mile of America.

My question to you is: What would you be willing to spend, theoretically, on Ricochet service at 128 kbps, if you knew you could only access the service from the metropolitan areas, airports, universities and a few other spots, knowing that it would not meet all your needs as an RV'er? Let's make this an open question to everyone... what's a reasonable price that helps you, the user, win and helps Metricom win?
