Elmer, I should have heeded my mother's advice to keep ill tempered words close to the vest for a day of reconsideration. For those words, I apologize to you. I hope we will let this thread fade quietly and speak not ill of each other again. I value your contribution. It is not that I think the Celeron is a bad chip. The floating point performance outshines the K6-Classic. Maybe that is enough of an incentive for home users, especially 3D game players, to choose the C266. The next incarnation w/ on chip L2 cache will be formidable competitor for both the K6-3D+ and PII. Ed
