I see. Let me make sure I got that right:

&#147I am not too concerned about that (ed. note: whether it gives correct results) because as soon as you go to the URL or URL's called out by the database to find your patches you will find out if it gave you wrong answers or not...In fact, now that I think about it this testing is not that big a deal at all.&#148

John, if it doesn't need to work correctly why bother buying it at all? Since much of the public does little more than word processing, spreadsheets, web surfing, and email&#151done mostly with Microsoft products, why not just send them to Microsoft's site for fixes&#151that's about 50% or more of the job right there. Just send out a bulk spam-mail saying "Pay me $80 and I'll give you a URL"

If the program doesn't really need to work&#151or don't need to exist as is the current case, this would sure save a lot of trouble. You make a very good point for buying stock in a company whose products don't really need to work. Sign me up.

For the record John, just so you don't mislead too many people, few of the lucky folks who got the demo actually got it to work. This is amply evidenced on the Yahoo thread. Of the few who did, the responses more or less said, "Shucks, it did something...I got back some kind of list."

Not very inspiring. Your statement, "All but Ted has told us what it does and that it works," is incorrect at best.

John,

Please let me have some of whatever you are smoking.

". All but Ted has told us what it does and that it works".

Really, hmm, I've seen as many say that it does not work. Even the mysterious Internet FX didn't say it worked, since the database part was not working in the beta.

I am not too concerned about that because as soon as you go to the URL or URL's called out by the database to find your patches you will find out if it gave you wrong answers or not.

Have you ever considered the possibility that the software might not pickup on something that is not Y2K compliant? It would not tell you to go anywhere. Hope CASHCO has lots of insurance. It's obvious that you are not qualified to test software.

If I provide you a program that scans your Windows 95 registry database and reports, "Everything AOK", how much would you pay me for the application? I could easily gen that up this weekend if the price is right.

Regards

Tom

ps: The program will also install correctly

"People like Ted,Internet FX and others on the two threads are qualified to tell us if it works or not."

Who is 'Internet FX' and who are the 'others'? What are their qualifications, and what is their claim to credibility?

"All but Ted has told us what it does and that it works."

Well, TED didn't exactly get a fair chance, did he? By that I mean that little detail
of not being permitted to download and test the product.

Does a product exist? .... Kitty litter, even ... where's the kitty litter?

Some are qualified to make estimates of CSHK costs per unit. Others are qualified to estimate CSHK revenues per unit. We all are qualified to subtract the two for the estimated profit per unit. People like Ted,Internet FX and others on the two threads are qualified to tell us if it works or not. All but Ted has told us what it does and that it works.

Last things first: The comments I read at Yahoo suggested to me that 1) most people who tried the download when it was available couldn't get it to work; and 2) the people who did get it to work found no links to patches as yet installed.

As for those who are qualified to estimate CSHK revenues per unit, well, don't you need the units first? And don't you need some pretty exact figures?
