<<i don't hear consumers complaining?>>
Here's one consumer who IS complaining. Don't get me wrong,
I like MS products and own several $thousand worth. But do I like their strong-arm tactics, abusive, and illegal behavior?. No!

At the rate things are going there will be only one game in town for PC software (MS), and I will have absolutely no choice. Neither has it escaped my notice that WIN 98 retails for $109 .. but only for the upgrade. The full price for first time users is $209. Sounds a bit like monopoly creep to me.

Sorry, but if splitting off the OS from MS is the only way to ensure
that consumers will have real freedom of choice, then it should be done. If MS isn't contained in some way we may find that WIN NT 10.0 includes a browser, cable modem, office suite and everything else. Unfortunately, all potential competitors will have ceased to exist. Oh
yes, the price will be $2000 -- take it or buy a Mac.

Robert,

Why is that significant? This is about anti-competitive business practices. Doesn't it seem that Microsoft's competition would be the ones to complain about that? Who did you expect would be pushing this issue?
