I think the browser issue is not with adding a component to the operating system; it's the pressure msft put to bear on the box makers not to use nscp, leveraged by the OS. This is called bundling and is patently illegal if you are dumb or brazen enough to get caught. Microsoft was, and rather than acting contritely, they are challanging the doj and the states. I hope they get out the knee pads sometime soon. btw, I am long on msft, nscp, and orcl, so I have no axes to grind. Of the three, msft has given the best roi, so I'm partial to them <g>, but I don't like their current position. I'm hoping they will re-evaluate and find a way for the administration to save face while letting them put win98 on the shelves. On the other hand if they don't work an accommodation, they would have their first valid excuse for being late on an OS. Frank

Ya right. And wheat is given away at shelters and food banks. Sure there is freeware. As to bundling, it has its own set of rules which also have been violated. That is not giving anything away free. Its still being bought. Setting up six sites to download explorer for free on the net is giving it away free. Time will tell. And no, the software and pc are not going to suffer if msft has trouble. The computer business is bigger than msft just like the phone is bigger than ATT or chickens are bigger than Tyson. Gates is just acting like an idiot and msft and only msft will suffer. Hope he can change his ways but doesn't look like it. Tony
