Sure, it means you run some cheap category 3 or cat 5 cable, and some inexpensive hubs. A school's
biggest expense (US or otherwise) would've been evaluating, purchasing, installing, configuring, and
troubleshooting a sh*tload of 100/Base-T ethernet boards. Apple's already built this in.

When I was an undergrad at Hebrew University of Jerusalem (admittedly 10 years ago) there were no telephones in the dorms. There was lots of debate about how expensive that was to put in. Maybe they have done that by now by I doubt they have ethernet or anything like that. Plenty of students could probably have afforded a computer however. Most students live off campus anyway.
