Actually Jim, I am complaining about MS's strong-arm tactics, abusive behavior and illegal activities; the current price I can handle. As I said, I like their products (have done so since I bought my first DOS C compiler in the early eighties). I also greatly admire the Company and what they have done to standardize the PC industry. We have all benefited from the intense competition. My concern is that we continue to have unfettered competition. Monopolies have to play by different rules or be broken up for the good of consumers. This is as "free market" and American as it comes. If you don't believe that Government should become involved then I would point to the breakup of Standard Oil earlier in this century (which is why we now have several oil companies competing), the breakup of ATT and intense competition on long distance, and so on. It's all about a level playing field, competition, and consumer choice....nothing more. My prediction is that MS will be forced to spin off the OS.
