Looks like HDD demand could be coming back too Don, at least for Seagate:

". . . the industry was beginning to see supply shortages in some sectors. 'We are starting to see very significant increases in demand,' he said. Growth initially would be driven by demand for high-end drives for servers, but Mr Stead also saw the growing market for inexpensive computers creating a demand for low-cost PC drives."

Don, all the bad news lately had disoriented me. What I read was not matching what I saw around me. I've just recently made a major upgrade, all my friends are doing the same and some are even buying more computers in addition to what they have. I'm seeing more and more associates with cell phones and pagers. I've never seen such a period of technological purchases around me.

I believe in Peter Lynch's view of looking at home to see what is going to be hot in the market. Technology is it.
