Fair enough. If Jay is doing what you say, then he is not so hard to find (what goes around comes around I always say), but I truly believe that this deal makes Nortran a very attractive biotech investment -- promotion or no promotion. We all just want to find profitable investments. Good Luck.

I remain,

Allen Bain, former President of Nortran Pharmaceuticals said in 1997:

"More significantly, this partnering strategy and execution will separate NRT management from their more promotion-oriented counterparts. There are dozens of examples of comparable companies who try to "sell the sizzle without the steak." To this extent, Nortran finds itself in a relatively unusual situation for a development stage pharmaceutical company - they have provided the foundation for solid drug development programs, have further legitimized their ownership, and are now grappling with the best manner in which to reach potential investors.

We are encouraged about the long term prospects for NRT in that they have hired of some "heavy hitters" to actively serve on both their Board of Directors and Scientific Advisors. In addition, they have hired a CRO to draft an appropriate clinical plan for NRT's second and third generation acute and chronic anti-arrhythmics, perhaps from which licensing negotiations for the compounds may commence.

In the coming months, we expect NRT to place a president and CEO who can manage the transition from a drug discovery company to one of partial drug development and negotiate at least one other significant outlicensing deal with a major pharmaceutical player."

SOROS note: Nortran has accomplished ALL of this already! This company is not a scam. It may have some promoters attached to it, but that is natural when a company has the kinds of prospects that Nortan has. I have no problem with keeping your eyes open in any investment and being aware of potential leeches, but to present only these few negative areas which may keep someone from investing in a great company is as big a disservice as selling someone on a bad company. Let's try to be balanced on this thread. I love to tell stories and entertain, but only when I put my money where my mouth is. This does not make me infallible, but at least honest. The above is an old bat-lover's opinion only. Please do your own DD.

Mr. Forthright,

As previously posted, we are trying to put a realistic value on Nortran.

We are relying on reports from Nesbitt Burns (Christine Charette), and Ernst & Young
that reveal what a biotech company's market cap. should be after each stage of
clinical development.

This is where we think Nortran's market cap. should presently be:

(millions C$)
N/B E/Y
RSD921- Clinical Phase I $94 $99
RSD10xx- Pre-clinical $74 $78
RSD931- Pre-clinical $74 $78
TOTAL $242 $255

If we divide by the number of outstanding shares
(approx. 38 million after recent financing),

we derive a value/share of $6.37 $6.71
ADD: Cash
(after financing approx $15MM) $ .39 $ .39
------ ------
VALUE $6.76 $7.10

These values do not incorporate the Hoffman LaRoche deal, or the
labido enhancement drug.

We think it's only a matter of time before the market realizes Nortran's worth.

At $2.45, we are having ourselves another Boxing Day Sale!!

At the risk of prolonging the negativity, I feel a need, (after receiving 3 recent messages from this thread) to respond to some of the BS.

First, Mr. NotsoForthright:

As one of the "unsophisticated investors" that you've come along to save from my own stupidity, I'd like to say NO THANK YOU to any assistance you can offer! The only difference between your negative promotion and the positive "promotion" of others that you malign are: you are cloaked in secrecy and you don't offer any facts and figures.

Re: your statement "I have no stock positions, long or short, in any of the stocks I have written about." Wow, I wish I had that kind of time on my hands!

Re: Insider information...If the information is being spoken on Howe St and elsewhere by people a little closer to the source...then by all means it SHOULD BE posted on the internet: the great equalizer!

Please go back to the UP thread, I've already taken my 700% profit on that story despite yours/Lickmans negative screaming from the mountaintop!

I do recall they performed an exorcism by simply ignoring you, so from now on I will do the same.
