Mike: If what you say is true and people have no good place to get info about sound... what do you do? Buy a SOUNDBLASTER a name you know or buy joe jams audio card (WHO)? You go with the name you trust every time right. would you buy a compaq computer or a computer from some guy named bill(No Name Brand)? Yup thats why people buy so much from CREAF I for one being in the computer game ALWAYS tell everyone to buy a CREAF card, I can't tell you how many people have a audio card other than CREAF and can't get the thing to work right. I always say buy CREAF and the card works from that point on. As for SB live this thing for gamers will be bigger then the latest video card. Why, It's a NEW step for games that I can't wait to make. To hear the action around you and move arond you in real time will bring you into a game like never befor. Audio being the 50% of a movie or game none care about is just the way life goes. Only when its something you have heard can you never go back to tiny sound again and I feel this is what we have in the computer market for audio. The same as for the TV market a few years ago... people found that to have the best video only gave um 50% of what the TV could do. A little thing called audio was what most people didn't have and boy will it suck you into the TV if you have it. 70% of the computers in the USA last year were used to play games on and the 2nd most used app for computers overall. This is a big market for a all new audio card and i'd bet after feeling what this card can do most will not do with out. Just like if you have heard AC3 sound i'd say you bough one for your main TV and would never go back. To not have a true 4/5.1 speaker system in the future is to not feel 50% of your game. And I realy don't think we will see this from a system on a chip anytime soon. As for the Van man... I have some mail asking me to stop talking to him and so I have. I didn't think much was going on with CREAF so I thought i'd "CHAT" with van and see what he did (maybe become friends hehe). All I can say is I think VAN very quickly found me a pain in the a*s : (. Think about if we all were friendly??? I do know he will be with us for as long as he has a SI membership. Adam - CREAF was a good thread a year ago... I find I goto SI less and less.
