Kaiser says world-class status on temporary hold Ashton Mining of Canada Inc ACA Shares issued 23,798,122 May 8 close $3.50 Mon 11 May 98 In the News John Kaiser, writing in his Bottom-Fish Report of April 28, laments that investors in Ashton Mining of Canada Inc. probably will have to wait until the end of this year or early 1999 before exciting news returns to the play. Ashton is leading the search for diamonds in the Buffalo Head region of Alberta. Its price has, however, come under pressure since its last results were reported on April 29. It closed on April 28 at $4.10, but now trades at around $3.45. Mr. Kaiser says the lack of kimberlite discoveries from satellite players is partially to blame for the price pressure on Ashton up until April 28. The former brokerage analyst notes that an Ashton paper presented at the recent International Kimberlite Conference did not help matters. It stated the pipe emplacements are confined to a "fairly narrow time period, whose stratigraphic interval is older than most of the cover rocks in northern Alberta," he reports.
