don,
Lets write to our congressman with the following suggestions.
1. Hold the automakers responsible for all auto accidents.
2. Hold the liquor makers responsible for alcoholism costs.
3. Hold the drug makers responsible if you take an asprin and it doesn't work.
4. Hold someone else responsible for everything in life that happens so we don't have to take responsibility for anything personally. Someone else is responsible, not me.

I have been the CEO of several companies for 30 years and the first 20 were nice. The last ten have been hell with frivilous lawsuits filed looking for a settlement. Its cheaper to settle than to fight or take a chance on a jury. When you settle you cannot counter sue for the frivilous suit. Insurance costs are so high that many small businesses self-insure and switch corporations if a large suit comes along. Corporate structure is changing with the operating company devoid of any assets.
I wonder what the legal bill is so far for MO and the other tobacco companies?
