Whoa! Did you really mean to post in #reply-4393300 that you thought Jesus was separated from God on the cross and that's why he calls out at the time of his death, "Eloi, Eloi, lama Sabachthani?" - "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?" [Mark 15:34]

That's almost getting into "The Last Temptation of Christ"-territory. :-) Here's the explanation a very good friend of mine gave me:

Jesus was clearly familiar with Psalm 22. This is not a quote demonstrating separation from God, but either a fulfillment of prophesy, or an allusion to the parallels between Psalm 22 and his own life.
