Robert & RDH,

Both of you have mentioned options trading in your posts. I would be interested in understanding how open interest in options puts pressure up or down on the stock's price. And how this pressure is effected on the expiration date of the option.

Many Thanks, RS

Bob,you read my mind...well put..I do think they will be well off with Sybase having their problems..but does this Baan recent accounting problem have any effect upon their relationship with IFMX?

Bob,
You make some interesting points however I disagree with your last paragraph. I don't think ifmx stock is depressed due to the mkt expecting instant results or that Bob F is unlikely to produce the results the mkt is expecting.

I actually think this is a classic case of the mkt punishing ifmx because msft is entering the arena later this year. Really theres very little ifmx could have done short of completely blowing away estimates that would have sent this stock past 10 1/2. Hopefully Bob F isn't spinning cycles trying to correct this phenomenon, because he can't.

These situations are fairly predictable. I think ifmx stock will rise after sql server is released. Analysts will realize it does not compete against ifmx head to head, and msft will have some growing pains trying to sell an enterprise product. In addition, ifmx seems to be slowly gaining new accts for IUS, I saw them listed under "new/emerging mkts" in their new business press release - there were a couple of media companies in there, which was good. Someone said they didn't have a marketing dept until a few months ago so it might take some time to ramp up. But because of the msft situation, I don't expect much movement in the stock until fall. By the end of the year I'll bet we more than double from here.
