Thread is the term. The electronics contract manufacturers all have specialities. What one does well might another might be poor at doing. Some populate pc boards and other make the whole printer, for example. So you cannot say one company's margins are too low compared to another company because it depends on the value added by the company.

A big OEM like HP will have several ECMs working for it. SCI has a new big plant in Europe for HP products. It will be interesting regarding the JBL/HP rumor.

There is a thread here on SI that discusses all the electronic outsourcing companies. Just put ECM in the search and it will take you there. They are very familiar with everyone of them.

I follow Flexf as with the others, but not a close as JBIL and DIIG. So I can't be of much help.
