To All: Win98 impact on near-term sales.

I am a long-time Windows user and from my POV upgrading from Win95
to Win98 is probably going to be a painful experience. Even
if there is a free-upgrade for people who purchase systems now,
isn't it entirely possible that many people will wait until Win98
comes pre-installed?

While this is only a small delay in purchases by the end user, it
would act to offset many Q2 sales to Q3. How will this affect this
quarter with the additional impact of the DEC merger?

I have a position in Compaq that I wouldn't mind adding to if it
dips down into the 20's again. For that matter, if Dell falls from
the same worries, I wouldn't mind picking some up in the 70s.
