Brad: Your Viagra experiences are similar to those of SF urologist Ira Sharlip who was interviewed on Thursday's PBS Newshour with Jim Lehrer. Click here for the entire transcript. pbs.org

DR. IRA SHARLIP: I've been very surprised at how well the drug has performed in the general population. The history of drug trials is that the drug performs better in the trials because the drug is applied to a very limited number of patients with specific indications. And then when drugs get applied to a larger population, it doesn't perform as well. My experience with this drug is that it has exceeded the performance that I expected of it.

Don't underestimate Viagra's effect on women which could eclipse that for men.We have yet to see its effect on women which I would consider positive knowing the human embryology and physiology of the genitourinary system.

Brad,

>>Almost all that have returned have been very pleased and have asked for refills. This includes some patients who have not been able to function sexually for years.>>

If they are your patients and have not been able to function sexually for years they can't have been very satisfied with what you have done for them over those years - did you not think to offer them a pump?

If they came to you two weeks ago for viagra and said they hadn't been able to function for years how can be sure they have that much of an ED problem - perhaps they are OK but just want a stronger hard on.
