Making regular voice telephone calls over the IP networks should grow to be a multibillion-dollar business in four years, according to Bruce Carlsmith, an analyst for NationsBanc Securities.

Carlsmith made his comments at the NationsBanc Technology week to more
than 2000 attendees wanting to know the future of Internet Telephony.

THIS IS HUGE FOR ALL DGIV INVESTORS!:
In Indonesia, Shapiro said the telephone
companies can charge as much as $10 per faxed
page. An IP telephony server, he said, might cost
between US$10,000 and $20,000 to put in place
and connect to a phone network, but it can help
cut costs in the long run. Currently, some
corporations communicating with off-shore rigs
spend as much as $5,000 to $10,000 a month for
voice and fax.
