Yes I have noticed the 'cure' factor myself. I am not sure why it happens, but I think it might have a lot to do with stress and your mindset, Once that block gets taken away there is no problem. In fact I think if you get too emotional it causes problems too. I think the viagra effect to fix these kind of problems might have a lot to do with damping your emotions rather than directly causing anything. After all dropping blood pressure is a rapid way to dampen the mind and confuse it enough to cause a rise in more than one sence.
PFE is a great company and my beef with them is only the fact that their drugs are abused more often than not and the end does not always justify the means.

hmmm maybe I should see if I can get some scientologists on here. After their trashing LLY I am sure the extreme relegious right might have a beef with some of these..

Mike,

Pfizer's own results suggest that Dr Brad's outstanding effect
with viagra may be largely placebo effect - if I have interpreted
the results correctly.

I read off data from Figure 1 on Pfizer web site for their huge study
and worked up the data to make the tables below. Men with ED
were assessed on a 0 to 5 scale for a period before and then for
a period after treatment with viagra and placebo. Results for a
variety of study designs and drug doses were pooled. The character
is maintenance of erections, but Pfizer say they got similar
results for ability to get an erection.

Men were scored in the following categories according to ability
to maintain erection:
0 no attempted intercourse
1 never or almost
2 a few times ((thus 0 is strong ED, 5 mild ED))
3 sometimes
4 most times
5 almost always or always

Results Tabulated is percentage of men
Impotence Category Initially
with viagra 0 1 2 3 4 5

improved 75 67 79 79 60 0
cured? 32 35 47 55 60 75

placebo 0 1 2 3 4 5

improved 58 30 47 29 17 0
cured? 5 5 12 7 17 48

viagra-placebo 0 1 2 3 4 5

improved 17 37 32 50 43 0
cured? 27 30 35 48 43 27

improved = % of men that move up one or more categories as the
result of treatment
cured? = % of men that moved to category 5

It is important to note that this is a truncated character, so
men having 5 can't increase their score, but can go down because
they do suffer from some ED. Men with 0 have the most severe ED
and thus have nowhere to go but up when rescored after treatment.

Dr Brad's scores of 80+ success are perfectly consistent with
the uncorrected data. When the placebo is subtracted there is
a dramatic decrease. Given all the hype about viagra I think one
would expect to have a huge placebo effect in patients now
taking viagra for the first time.

Contrary to what I thought when I first looked at it, this
particular data does not demonstrate the "recreational
erection enhancer" effect because the character is truncated at the top.

DaiS

PS thanks for the help with Dr Brad, I'm sorry I offended him

Mike,

In 7983 I should have said "....Dr Brad's outstanding effect
with viagra might have a substantial placebo component ...."
