Greg, I am not a scholar of that time in history. But the Revelation of John was supposedly written around A.D. 95 in the reign of Domitian (according to my bible which I trust is accurate). That is after the events that you are referring to. If this was a historical account then it was not prophetic when it was written but it is a revelation from the Lord to John. So it had to be about future events, not what had already happened. I also don't think the beast ruling over all tribes, tongues and peoples was accomplished because those events were on a more "local" level. I don't think any of the events of Rev. 13 about the beast have been fulfilled yet. Was a fatal wound healed, did a second beast rise up and cause all to worship the first beast who's fatal wound was healed? Did the beast deceive the "whole world" and cause fire to come down out of heaven. No. Had the Gospel of Jesus Christ been preached to every nation at that time? No. When did Marco Polo go to China? Marco Polo was born in 1254. Before he went to China that nation had never heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Now the destruction of all the rain forests has forced the last of the aboriginal tribes out into the open and into the hands of waiting missionaries. In our lifetime only has the words of Jesus in Matt. 24:14 been fulfilled. There are many things that don't add up with the idea that the mark and the beast have already happened. Bob

The anti-christ. I think it is. Message 4394253 I first heard about this Lord Maitreya 20 years ago when I was studying the new age religion. Back then the plan was for him to come forward at the right time. It may be now. Everyone has their own web site, EVEN THE ANTI-CHRIST!!

Greetings Greg, and to all who love the Lord Jesus Christ. You are on the right track in your understanding of the Book of Revelation. This Book of the Bible cannot be interpreted literally according to the instructions given to the Apostle John by the Angel. Rev 1:1.... And He sent and " signified " it by His angel to His servant John . This word " signified " means to express an idea or message by means of signs and symbols. The signs and symbols are not the message but point to something far greater that the Holy Spirit would have us see. To attempt to literally interpret this final Book violates the integrity of Gods Holy Word and leads to many false and erroneous doctrines. This can be readily confirmed by a trip to any christian bookstore, where you can find countless " popular " books available on this subject, all claiming to have the answers. This Book is about the Revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ which takes place between His first coming and His second comings. Rev. 5 is a key chapter in this book as it proclaims to the whole world, " the Lamb has been crowned",the Lord Jesus Christ has ascended and now rules His creation. Because of this fact, the rest of this book now unfolds according to Gods plan. Worthy are You Lord Jesus to receive all honor and glory both now and for-ever more.
