JAG (Just Another Guy?) it is, Sir!
I can definitely handle that level of responsibility.
I assume it means that, along with carrying an attache case, I'll get to wear legal briefs, and eat writ crackers?
(Hope it doesn't make me a target of all those lawyer jokes!)

Byron,

Felt I should clarify that I appreciate your including me in the fun/recognition phase of the thread, whereby you're giving assignments (commissions) to various contributors. In my response 4729 I was making a joke (I don't know what JAG stands for except the title of a tv series that I've not watched because I seriously don't have time or interest in it these days--the free time I have mostly goes to reading SI/DGIV). I was NOT being sarcastic as if to say your "assignment" wasn't good enough--I mean, geez, it's all in fun, while we're waiting and talking about and watching very closely our serious investment in DGIV. I just want to make sure you didn't interpret my response incorrectly because Sam Lee seems to have done so. He may have been joking with his post 4725, wherein he "seems" to state I needn't worry about being mistaken for a lawyer given the "tone" of my response to your assignment (and of course that can be taken as a back-handed compliment or a put-down or a joke off of my joke, etc.). This underscores how easily posts can be misinterpreted--primarily because there is no obvious "tone" or facial expression or body language to provide the necessary confirmation of how a message should be taken. I believe this contributes at least in part to some of the flame wars seen on other threads and some of the irrational outbursts from certain personalities who are by nature overly sensitive and/or defensive and in fact expect rejection and criticism from others and therefore easily see it in a post when it isn't really there. One reason why people have taken to using smiley faces and <g> codes to verify their mood and how their message should be read. Beyond that, people obviously vary in their communication skill levels and some do not have a clear idea about how to say what they want to say so that it is difficult to be misinterpreted (as opposed to just being interpreted correctly). The pace of the posting contributes to the vulnerability. I could go on. But I am sure you get what I'm saying. So I will conclude by saying, unequivocally (I hope), I respect and admire and appreciate what you've contributed/created here (the DGIV phenomenon/threads) and I think I read your personality fairly well at this point since I've read all the posts since the $1 days. Since I'm a relative infrequent poster (won't say "irregular" cause that could be misinterpreted <g>) I realize it's more difficult to interpret what I say and how I say it. Hope it's ok that I tend to be a court jester rather than an information or experienced opinion contributor. I suspect it's enough I am long DGIV. The rest should eventually become transparent or not matter at all.
