Darren, you are an amazingly savvy investor with a keen insight into the workings of the market. I really admire you and respect your financial acumen. I often read your postings repeatedly so as not to miss any of the valuable nuggets of information contained in your carefully crafted statements. Good call on ASND on Friday! Where did you develop such sophisticated analytical skills? As a history major in the hallowed halls of Arizona State University?
I am sure GSCO and many of the other Wall Street players would love to hire someone who could bring them 100% annual returns, but I know why you turned down all of the job offers. Anyone generating such returns would quickly become prisoners of his own inertia- kind of like what happened with the Magellan fund. At the very least, you should consider writing a book.

Oh spare me the bullshit! I sent resumes to all the big investment houses last year looking for a job -- I was rejected by each and every one. GSCO, MLCO, MSCO, SBSH, etc. I'm a computer guy. I build LAN's/WAN's. I got sick of it, and wanted to be an "analyst." Post-rejection, I decided day-trading was fun as hell, and I would try to survive off that and use the investment accounts to live off...also rejected from Stanford and Cal MBA programs, and had a couple of very hefty letters of recommendation. So, I must not be very good at this...in the eyes of the "experts." As for the book, forget it. Any book I ever write will be fiction -- probably about LBO's.

As for the attitude, does that come from Stanfurd? Nice golf course.

Hey pal, ever seen the Rose Bowl (the stadium, not the parade)? I didn't think so. As a medical student, I bet you really know a lot about networking companies. And keep those penmanship grades up, you never know when you might need to prescribe yourself some drugs.

If you want to insult me, my school, my heritage, my whatever, take it offline and I will afford you the same courtesy.
