Jeff, I just don't know what the reasons were for the SEAC/SFA
announcement. SEAC and CCUR were given the same exposure in the
booth. All the big signs around the booth said Scientific Atlanta. On the station for SEAC it had SEAC on the right and
SFA on the left . On the station for CCUR it had CCUR on the right and Prasara on the left. One way of looking at it is they
gave the Prasara/CCUR combination twice the exposure as SEAC.
Another way is they had SFA up with SEAC which could be seen as
better. Frankly I just think SFA was getting all three names up
with the same exposure. Del Kunert, Director of IVOD for CCUR,
whispered to us when both SEAC and CCUR were making their presentations, he said "Seachange says they are the low cost
provider but we are significantly below them in cost". All I can
say is so far CCUR has never told us anything that proved to be
wrong later (except when shipments were going to start and all have been wrong on that, including Bill Gates). So far so good
but we still have a way to go, I think we will be moving fast from
now on but I warn that the cable companies have a reputation of
being ultra ultra slow.
