Asensio for me represents regression, a sliding back into all that is ugly and corrupt in Latinoam‚rica. Stuff like that has gone on too long. Mind you, many waves of cries of reform have come and gone before this one, so yes, maybe he's right. But this will not endear him to me as I will perceive him to have helped to perpetuate evil. Re EC - I don't know how many of his posts you've read on other threads - I just figure you have to take much of what he says figuratively, it's exaggeration for humour and for emphasis - so far I don't lump him in with the Grandich/Asensio/Bishop crowd - hey, none of them can touch him for vocabulary or the use of it in novel ways that demonstrate a mind quite free of boring and restrictive structure. He's also got an unbroken record of good calls on SI ..... so far. Mostly we're agreed, though ......... cheers, gotta go, no time for good post

Quintessential or Carl on Credibility I think what bothers Carl the most, is the fact that he has very little. I was warmly greeted to this thread by a private message from Carl, it was all about the valuable contributions made by his friend Barbara, he warned me not to say anything bad about Barbara, as you know, I listened well. I see he is now very concerned about Manuel and is disturbed that I would impugn Manuel's excellent reputation. Carl, you are doing a fine job, just thought I would let you know that, heheheheh, keep up the good work.
