Imation, Panasonic To Make Add-On
For iMac

Dow Jones Newswires

OAKDALE, Minn. -- Imation Corp. (IMN) and
Matsushita's Electric Corp. of America's Panasonic
Industrial Co. unit plan to jointly develop a SuperDisk
drive for the Universal Serial Bus interface.

Terms weren't disclosed.

In a press release Friday, the companies noted that Apple
Computer unveiled a new consumer Macintosh called iMac
featuring two USB ports for peripherals and that the
product will be available as an add-on when Apple begins
shipments of its new computer in August.

Imation supplies products for the imaging and information
industry.

Panasonic makes electronic components and is the
marketing interface in North America for Matsushita
Group.>

Please, please, please. Far too much space has been wasted on the non-issue of a stupid copulating floppy drive. Can we forget about it now? You can keep the stupid floppy, for all I care, because if I get an iMac, the second thing I'm going to do is network it to my other mac so I can print.
