It looks like Intel doesn't have its own set of "negative" physics - put the heat issue into contex: " My computer has always run quite hot, as I have it packed chock full of various fun stuff like Voodoo2 cards, DVD decoders, SCSI hard drives, and the like. I also emailed Anand (of Anand's Hardware Page fame) asking him if he had any problems with heat, and he indicated that his Voodoo2's ran hotter than the i740, which was not my experience. " Paul
