Dave Archibald showed me two sized cells in Henderson. One about 4"X4" and the other about 2"X1". He said that for the time being they were working on these two as standards and did not have any intentions at the time of manufacturing other size cells. The actual battery will be made by the OEM and incorporate these standard sizes. The small cell fits very nicely into a Star-Tac size battery and the large one look like it could go into a laptop, either stacked the size of a drive or 4 of them laid flat on the bottom of the laptop.

Sonny: Wether it's Valence or another entity that puts the final assembly together, they will need some sort of charger. It was my impression that PBY (Power Battery) had talked with Valence & it led nowhere. However, considering that the new company that this fund group put together (Consolidated Power Battery,Inc, which is presently awaiting stockholders merger approval) will be making batteries for each OEM's particular needs. In the new co make-up, they will be able to combine one of the smallest recharging technologies around with final battery assembly using whichever battery technology the customer wants. It would be a natural for the cell phone & laptop applications & companies like VLNC(smaller is better these days, dontchano!). Your post goes to exactly what this new company will be focusing on & that's why I was a tad excited! Anyways...down the road, the twain may meet as it would certainly be a win-win deal, IMO.
