I have a problem with the Cross as
a symbol for the Lord to begin with. This symbol was used in the Inquisitions, the
Crusades, cross burnings by KKK, and by Hitler

I don't have a problem with the cross.
I have a problem with those who would stand behind the cross while committing atrocities and offenses in the name of our lord Jesus!

My point in my post to you about the ban by the rabbi on crosses in the messianic congregation was only to point out that the star of David was substituted for the cross.

The cross being so directly associated with the suffering and sacrifice of my Lord and Saviour Jesus the Christ and the star of David having no clear origin at all, except to be associated with mystics.

Mezuzah's and even the menorah, can be traced to the Bible, but not so for the star of David. And certainly if Israel chooses to have the star of David be the symbol for their country who are we to be offended, I sort of like it myself. But to ban crosses in a christian church and permit the star of David seems, at the least, to be discriminatory, not to mention very incongruent.

Without the finished work of Christ at the Cross, His shedding of blood and His sacrifice, there would be no need for messianic congregations....There would be no need for any congregations of people any where. For there would be no hope at all for anyone.

1 Cor 1:23-24
23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

I prefer to wear
a Chai

What is a Chai? This is something I have never heard.

Yeshua is alive and not still on a Cross.
And praise God, Praise God.

I too do not like the crosses that have the body of Christ still on it. And when I see one I sometimes feel like approaching the person wearing it and reminding them that Christ is no longer on the cross, but I think better of doing such a thing....They know it as well as I do. ...and they certainly mean no offense I'm sure.

But a simple cross is a wonderful reminder to many of Christ's sacrifice. Especially to those who try ever so hard to forget it.
I also like the fish ><>...as a symbol of Christianity....can you tell?

The cross is where He finished His work!!.Without the blood shed on the cross we have nothing. It is symbolic of His love for the world. It is but a statement of the faith and love for Christ of a Christian. But I remember you also told us that you do not call your self a Christian. Nancy maybe you have a problem with the cross because you have a problem calling yourself a Christian. And maybe, even understandably so, you have a problem with some of the people who tried to hurt you while calling themselves Christians. Well they were not Christians Nancy.
Just an observation not a criticism.

And whether or not you call yourself a Christian certainly does not change your relationship with Jesus The Christ.

Nancy yes I have that CD you mentioned with Paul Wilbur, Shalom Yesuralem, I have it also on video and casette, we love it, and listen to it often, The video is outstanding.
Paul Wilbur is also the worship leader on "Up to Zion" one of the CDs I told you about.

There is another great CD called "Life's a Lesson" have you heard of that one?....It is wonderful, some of the songs are done in Hebrew, but all sing praises to God.
