Re: Gorillas

The most important lesson of the book is this: You don't need to find new gorillas, just buy-and-hold the ones that are already so obvious. What the book really does is explain why gorillas are so powerful and how their dominance lasts for years and years, not just a quarter or two like some hot-stocks-du-jour. Just consider how a portfolio composed of companies like MSFT, INTC, and CSCO has fared compared to the general market over the past name-your-period. So just take the portion of your portfolio which you would otherwise put into an index fund and just divide it up among these three and sleep well for the long haul. You'll find they more than make up for the mistakes you make with the rest of your money. I know I have. :)
