Donald,

Yes, you are most welcome to join our discussion of Revelation and whether "the time is near". It would be most appreciated to have quotes from scripture shown to be fulfilled or at least strongly coincidental to post-Biblical events. One small request, though; for long passages, please just use a reference (including which version of the Bible) rather than typing out the entire quote. I think most of us on the thread have, literally, a stack of Bibles; well... at least one. :-)

Oh... in your research of the May 14, 1948 date. Did you consider the change in calenders a few hundred years ago? Perhaps a Jewish calender would be most appropriate, but the Jewish calender also underwent changes in the 4th century. It definitely would be interesting to find evidence that the prediction in Daniel came true.

As a curiosity, in the Authorized (King James) Version (AV), the 46th word from the beginning of Psalm 46 is "shake". The 46th word from the end, excluding the exultation(?), "Selah", of Psalm 46 is "spear". The AV was published in 1611. William Shakespeare was born on April 23, 1564, making him 46 years old during the first few months of 1611. Did Shakespeare, himself, write Psalm 46 in the AV? Coincidence?
