Sam

Like you---I pray that we all will find the hidden truths in the Bible.

It's obvious that you are much more intelligent than I, and better read, but I disagree with your statement that--"A person basing his life on "faith" instead of knowledge can easily be swayed into many falsehoods".

My faith will not be swayed.

I believe that Jesus Christ is Lord. That He died for me. And that He
rose again and His victory over death assures me that I will someday be with Him.

I need the help of others more able to quote scripture than I am, but my beliefs are as I have stated. I only wish I had your intelligence to debate with someone I could easily call a friend.

Greetings Sam, Thank you for your response. Please allow me to establish this word "faith " which we both seem to use but differ on its true meaning. I believe that the " faith" that I received at my conversion to the Christ was not something that I possessed, but was as the Bible states in Eph.2:8, a " gift " from God. This " faith" will now produce in my life the fruit of the Spirit, according to Gal.5:22-26. I agree that a person basing his life on his faith rather than in the " real faith " which is a gift from the Lord Jesus Christ leads multitudes into error and destruction. The " biblical faith " which I am talking about is not a mental exercise which originates within oneself ( mind ). It is a supernatural gift from Almighty God, through the Lord Jesus Christ. Having stated that Sam, If I am reading and understanding correctly your last two paragraphs of your response, it seems you are saying, ( I hope I am wrong) that everbody should look for god in them. This is the " lie " which was born in the garden of Eden when Satan stated that " you shall become like God " . Gen.3:5. This " lie " has been passed on from generation to generation, each generation adding its own twist to it then passing it on to the next generation. This " lie " promotes that man can live independantly from his Creator and find meaning and purpose. I believed like all others this genetic lie, until God who is rich in mercy and because of His Great love for us, caused me to be transferred from the kingdom of darkness, into the Kingdom of Light of His Son. Sam, I am constantly aware that within me, that is in my " flesh " nothing good dwells, this always brings me back to the place where I allow this life of God, which I received at my conversion to lead and guide me into all truth. The bible calls this life that all believers receive , the very nature of God Himself, and " Eternal Life ". I pray and trust Sam that you have experienced this greatest gift to all mankind, Jesus the Christ". Robert
