Saf T Lok Hires Vice President of Marketing TEQUESTA, Fla., May 12 -- Saf T Lok Incorporated (Nasdaq: LOCK - news) announced today that it has hired Stephen S. Eccher as their Vice President in charge of Marketing. Mr. Eccher will be heading up the company's internal sales force that will focus on bringing the Saf T Lok products to the law enforcement industry. Mr. Eccher's extensive background includes 21 years with the United States Secret Service where he worked in all areas of protective security for the White House, President, Vice President, and other world leaders. Mr. Eccher's extensive contacts within the federal, state and local level's of law enforcement give him a distinct advantage in approaching these agencies to discuss the advantages of Saf T Lok. ''It's a no-brainer,'' commented Mr. Eccher when asked about the approach he will take when calling on these departments. ''The lock is simple and effective and will sell itself when properly demonstrated. The hardest part is finding the time to see everyone who wants to see our locks. As far as selling law enforcement on the concept of the lock, well that's the easy part.'' Mr. Eccher began his position with the company on May 11, 1998, just as the new magazine locks are beginning to ship. The Saf T Lok magazine lock is expected to be the more popular lock with law enforcement because it works on the semi-automatics, which seem to be the weapon of choice for most departments. The first models being produced are for the Glock model's 17 & 19. Saf T Lok manufactures a combination gun lock that personalizes a handgun so that only its owner can fire it. The locks are completely mechanical and rely on no outside sources (i.e., batteries, keys, rings, computer chips, etc.) to operate the lock. Since the lock is touch sensitive, it can be unlocked instantly -- even in the dark. SOURCE: Saf T Lok Incorporated
