William,

Since it is well known that Microsoft is planning a not so secret PR blitz against the DOJ's attack, what possible effect do you think a letter writing campaign will have to state AGs, federal judges or members of the senate.

If J.D. Rockefeller, who probably did own the politicians, couldn't stop the "Trust Busters" what makes you think that Mr. Gates can? As far a Microsoft is concerned, we are living in a new reality. The DOJ will not go away. Can you imagine a government attorney telling the world, "Sorry, we were wrong. We apologize to Microsoft for the inconvience. Please disregard everything we've been saying about Microsoft having monopoly power!"
The question is: What is the new business landscape for Microsoft going to be like, and how can we profit from it.

Writing patronizing letters to a federal judge, who just might end up the defacto CEO of the company won't help.

Sorry,
