Jim, I think Mac people aren't seeing the significance of the USB port. I will just about guarantee you that the USB implementation in the iMac will be the same as the Win98 implementation which by the way is a change from previous implementations. Literally 100's of devices have been waiting in the wings for the Win98 USB implementation to unify the Wintel market. We're talking all the major printer companies, page scanners, digital cameras, all the external disk makers, speakers, joysticks, not to mention cool devices like the USB enabled guitar I mentioned previously. This is the beginning of the unification of the peripherals market and I will just about bet you that Jobs and Gates conferred about doing this. Why else would Apple suddenly reach into the Wintel world to incorporate an I/O technology. By late next year when the computer lines are refreshed you'll see Wintel's USB and Apple's Firewire as the only I/O on both Wintel and Macs. The market will be completely unified. You have to agree this is a pretty significant step. I'm sure Mac peripheral makers think so. It's pretty significant for consumers also and it makes the iMac a very, very attractive product. Rich
