Tom:
In one of the callers question about the possibility of a break out
to upside, Bob responded as two possibilities ( with my own words):

1. A downside correction could continue, but contained within
10%.

2. Make a new high and then continue the trading range of within
10% downside.

He does not see, 10,000 Dow this year. I didn't listen to the whole
program. So, anyone out there, correct me if any.

Thanks,

<<Just received a brochure from Charles Schwab. They're projecting an S&P of 1200 for 1998 which (if my math is correct) is a DJIA of 9800.>> Thomas, I believe that you got your information from the Argus Update report that Schwab includes with their monthly statements. The report said "...As a consequence, we are boosting our 12-month target price on the S&P 500 to 1200." This really is not a 1998 target, however, it could hit 1200 this year.

The S&P at 1200 would infer a DOW at 9792, or 9800 as you posted. Lets hope we reach these levels without having to go through a 5 to 10% correction.

>Just received a brochure from Charles Schwab. They're projecting an S&P of 1200 for 1998<

Just for the record, the brochure is from Argus Research Corp. Schwab simply includes it in their monthly statements to qualified customers. Schwab doesn't make projections or recommendations -- that's one thing I like about them.
