Thanks for your input Linda.

I know that the software situation is less than ideal. However, I don't think it is as bad as all that. I was in computer sales for about six years. During that time there were already numerous professional accounting packages available for the [then] little Mac. I suspect that there is a predisposition to believe that the answer to relatively obscure needs in software is to use the OS with the most software juice, Windows. So while a cursory glance is given to Mac OS, the real search turns to Windows by default as grains of sand add up on that side of the scale. Hence, there becomes a self fulfilling prophesy.

I recall one incident that happened in late 1984. I had gone on vacation to Acapulco, Mexico for a week. When I came back to work, I found that the store owner had sold a Macintosh to a Dentist and had promised him some Dental Office Management Software as if we already had some, but he just couldn't find it until Herb got back. It took me several weeks of phone calls and follow ups, but I found that dentist his software. He was skeptical by that time, but it looked good, so he bought it. He was very pleased with the software and became my very good friend to this day. In fact, It's time for another checkup. (grim grin)

My point is that the Mac OS environment is rich in software despite the fact that Windows is richer. I've published this link before, but it is always a great place to start when one is looking for anything to add to your Mac. macsoftware.apple.com

Here's hoping we get a couple of upgrades tomorrow,
