I think social unrest does mean something. It points to real hurting going on. Clearly in my mind Asia isn't just going to wake up suddenly and find their troubles behind them. It's going to be a slow painful crawl back up, with fits, stops, and restarts.

I'm just saying that the market doesn't seem to pay much attention to social unrest on a daily basis -- as in, "there's rioting in Indonesia, let's sell US stocks now, earnings of US companies doing biz there will be affected." Would be nice if it was that easy though.
