Tom,

as you have good insight into Indonesia, just tell us when you will consider investing there in earnest again and 2 or 3 names you'd look for at that (future) time.

BTW, how high do you consider the risk that a civil war will break out in Indonesia when the struggle for power commences after Suharto left. I personally don't think such a drastic thing will happen as political opposition is too united now in their objectives (to sack Suharto) - just want to hear an "expert". Be brief - we'll keep observing it anyway.

Thanks a lot,
Thomas

Tom...I wonder if Suharto is staying in the same set of suites at the Intercontinental the Shah stayed in when he went to Egypt and never returned to his country?

What is the possibility of Muslim clerics taking over Indonesia la Iran? Or, alternatively the United States of Indonesia (the invention of the Dutch) simply disintegrating given the varying ehtnicities of the United States of Indonesians. I'd bet the latter wicket. After the Chinese...who have a vested stake in the country... decide it is not a good thing to be an Indonesian.

I'm a sort of historian of Colonial deconstruction.

Tell me who is the leader of the Portectorate of Tanganyika now????

My best,
