Let's complain about Etrade... How many Etrade people do you need to open an IRA account? I don't know they never got my application even though they cashed the check. April 14th I sent in an Roth IRA application, the check is cashed on April 17th and nothing for 3 weeks, no letters, no emails. On May 4th I sent an email saying "Hey guys! What's up with my account?" They answered back on May 5th saying "Sorry but we never got any application from you." I told them "My bank is saying that you (Etrade) cashed the check, would you open that account ASAP, I'm getting impatient. On May 7th I got one more email "We are very sorry, we have mispelled your name, we will link your account with your other account in the next 24-48 hours. On Monday 11th, (4 days later) nothing, I called them again "Can you link my IRA account with the other one because I cannot access my IRA account, your never gave me a password and username." Etrade replied it will be done in the next 24 hours." Now it's Tuesday 12th and nothing has been done so far, why does Etrade say it will take 24-48 hours when they will probably take 1 week or 2? I'm sure if I had several hundred thousands in my account I would not have this problem. Guess what? In few weeks I'm getting a bunch of money from my family, and I don't think I will put it with E*Trade... The small young investors of today are the big investors of tomorrow. It is really stupid to forget that. Something it feels good to let the steam out.
