ISLAMABAD, May 11 (AFP) - A former chief of Pakistani intelligence said Monday that Pakistan must demonstrate its nuclear capability after the announcement of three underground nuclear tests by India. "We must go ahead. We should declare our nuclear ability," retired general Hamid Gul told AFP. Carrying out a test is import to demonstrate and establish Pakistan's nuclear capability, said the former head of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). He said Indian "nuclear ambitions" were not a secret ever since that country exploded a nuclear device in 1974. The former ISI chief said the new tests put US President Bill Clinton's planned visit to the sub-continent "in the doldrums."
