3Com has been reduced to a consumer product company froma high flying networking company. It will be impossible for the stock to recover if they continue to portray that image. All the time the only news items I keep on seeing are those of the Palm Pilot and modems, both incidentally being USR products. One then questions (and ones who are scared of the answer are dumping) where is the original 3Com and their superb products. Lost in the kingdom of Cisco ? They have no WAN (core and edge switches) presence, in the LAN there is cutthroat competition, and dont even ask about modems and NICs. So where is the growth ? No answer ? Now one can easily explain the canine behaviour of the stock. Am down to 25% of my Jan 98 COMS holding and seriously questioning that. -hitesh
