The fact that some software ships on floppies is enough reason to support the format.

Linda, of course I agree with you that floppies (or at least a format with a smaller storage limit) have been better suited for smaller software installers, but if you can produce a CD for the same cost and help move the hardware standard into the future, why not? Let's not let a 1.4MB diskette stand in the way of progress!

Until CD-RW drives become inexpensive options (or standard equipment) on consumer machines, we'll probably not see as much CD software installers as we could (or should).

On a related note, Linda, have you installed Office98 on your G3/300? Now THERE'S an installer!
