Good morning Ann, I hope you had a most enjoyable sleep. You have very profound ideas about G-d, however we do have some disagreement. <<The god or creator I believe in didn't create earth & then decide to populate it with opposing beliefs that have caused dreadful wars. She/he would be an evil god indeed. >> Where do you get the idea that G-d excludes anyone? In the Bible, G-d says 2Pe 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. The promises of God are available to all women. I also agree that G-d would not populate the earth with opposing beliefs. This is again a profound thought on you part. <<The god or creator I believe in didn't create earth & then decide to populate it with opposing beliefs that have caused dreadful wars. She/he would be an evil god indeed. >> G-d did not create these opposing beliefs. That being said, and and if you agree that it would be evil, Where do you suppose this opposition comes from? If they were created by man, then where did our agreed upon morality go. Again man was trying to control his brothers, a rather un "Golden rule" behavior so to speak.

Did the G-d you believe in allow this behavior? What is this G-d like? Where can I learn about him that I can trust is a source of truth he would agree with?

Hello, Ann. God's grace and beneficence is pure and unadulterated and man's religions have warped our reasoning in regard to who God really is and what He teaches. We have to work our way past the intentions of man because as you know, no one is completely free of the ego.
You may have a personal relationship with Jesus and no one has the right to tell you how you must come to an understanding of your creator. The only requirement is faith that Jesus is the resurrected Son of God who serves as a mediator to forgive our sins so that God only sees us as pure and saintly.
To search until you begin to have a personal relationship with Jesus is well worth the journey.
God bless and keep you.
