Can anyone talk about availability of graphics engineers?

I heard/read that SGI is in the dumps because they lost the next gen on Nintendo (from some game magazine), and that the SGI engineers who made the last mips chip left to nVidia and some startup.

I know S3 lost engineers.

where did these guys go? who has the best and brightest? (tdfx?)

i heard that getting qualified graphics and firmware guys is near impossible.

Calvin, no actually I'm used to being in a trash compactor with S3, it works out pretty good, it keep most of the rain out of my cardboard box bed.<VBG> Interesting there was an cardboard box "office" there with the letters on it GJ.
